The Narrow Margin

Directed by: Richard Fleischer
Based on the book by: Martin Goldsmith, Jack Leonard
Screenplay by: Earl Felton
Cinematography by: George E. Diskant

A near perfect film noir. It has all the tropes you expect to see at play: A murdered partner, a reluctant hero, a sexy femme fatale, mob hit men, surprising plot twists, etc... It's hard to believe the same director continued on to make B-films like Fantastic Voyage, Doctor Doolittle and... Red Sonja??? If you're looking for a fantastically pulpy old school B&W suspense film, check this one out. You won't be disappointed.
