If only this film had stayed as a family drama dealing with raising an artificial child, this film would have been incredible. But Spielberg had to make it into some big sweeping adventure story that got sillier and sillier by the minute. You can't help but speculate if Kubrick had lived to make this film, what it could have been. The film had 12 endings! Ugh!
