One of the few films where I actually wished that the main character woke up at the end of the film and realized that everything that had happened was just a terrible, terrible dream. A case study in what happens when a film is overhandled by studio execs (most of whom know nothing about the franchise or the characters they're dealing with). A batant slap in the face of everything James Cameron had built up in Aliens. As this was David Fincher's first feature film, I'm amazed that it didn't destroy his career. He made it up to us with his next film, I must say.
