As much as I hate Nicolas Cage, his performance does make this a pretty amazing film. Elizabeth Shue seemed a little too self-conscious about her body to be a prostitute but otherwise her acting was great. Keep your eyes open for a cameo by French Stewart (3rd Rock from the Sun) in the beginning scene- it's really bizarre to see him in this kind of a film.
