Eastern Promises

Directed by: David Cronenberg
Screenplay by: Steven Knight
Cinematography by: Peter Suschitzky
Year: 2007

I saw a matinee showing of this film, little did I know (after) I bought my ticket it was a MOVIE FOR MOMMIES screening. I really didn't mind the crying babies everywhere in the theatre, my #1 issue is: WHO THE FUCK thought this was an appropriate film to bring babies to? I mean, they were watching the goddamned screen and every time a throat got slit or a blood-soaked baby was on screen all the kids were CLEARLY upset by the images and sounds! WHAT THE FUCK were these mothers thinking??? Go see Good Luck Chuck or some other bullshit film, just don't bring your goddamned babies to see this film. It was such an insane surreal experience on so many more levels I can't even go into right now. HOLY SHIT! If the film wasn't as good as it was I would have walked out half way shouting: "You are all terrible mothers!" Bringing a baby to a Cronenberg film... WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING??

3.5 out of 5
